The Conference “Culture and Sustainable Development in times of crisis” was organized by the University of Arts in Belgrade and the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in honor of the 10th year anniversary of the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policy and Management, University of Arts in Belgrade.
The initiative for this conference was created within the project COST IS1007 on the study of cultural sustainability, in which the scientific research team of the University of Arts in Belgrade and Faculty of Dramatic Arts has participated. An important focal point of the scientific meeting was reflected through the analysis and comparison of current practices and projects dealing with culture, art and sustainable development in the world. Participation in this event took Mirjana Rikalo researcher of GKE with her presentation on “Procreative cities: a case study of the Neolithic settlement Vinča“, which analyzed the social and historical context in the origin of the Vinča culture, the characteristics of its economic relations, that can be associated with developmental models which we define as procreative economy.
