The Symposium on newest trends in research of creative industries was held in Berlin, organized by Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, Ministry office for creative industry research, International Association for cultural and creative industries (IACCI).
The Symposium was attended by leading experts in this area, representing the newest achievements and tendencies in creative industry research. The conference was opened by Matthais Machnig, state secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, followed by a one-day discussion by Dimiter GANTCHEV, director of “Creative Industries Division”, WIPO (Geneva), Anthony KRAUSE, chief of the Department for diversity of cultural expressions UNESCO (Paris), XIANG Hardy Yong, Creative Industries Institute, University of Beijing, Tim RENNER secretary for cultural affairs of the City of Berlin, Françoise BENHAMOU, prof. Centre d’économie de la Sorbonne Paris, Justin O’CONNOR professor of communications and creative economy, Monash University Melbourne Australia, Hasan BAKHSHI, director, NESTA London (UK), José PESSOA, Deparment for cultural statistics, UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Montreal (Canada), Hristina Mikić, director of the Creative Economy Group (Serbia).
Hristina Mikić presented the work of the Creative Economy Group, its research and new methodology “Index of Creativity” which is currently developed by the organization and which will serve in detecting spill-over effects in development of creative industries. The Symposium was a great opportunity to present 35 leaders of Serbian creative industry.
