In the aim to increase capacities of local governments in better planning to support development of local creative economy, we have prepared a handbook “Local development & cultural industries”. The published handbook integrates the perspective of local planning with cultural and creative industries specifics. It is based on the spirit, principles and guidelines of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2005) which adapts them within the discourse of planning and managing local economical and cultural development. The handbook is produced for a wider stakeholders that directly or indirectly participates (or could participate) in these processes. Its primary purpose is to provide a comprehensive protection and promotion of diversity of cultural expressions and establish a balance between its cultural function and economic valorization.
The handbook can be downloaded here.
